We Are Pleased to Announce... Recycling!

Because Palos Verdes Estates does not readily offer a recycling program for businesses, even green business like RPR, we found an independent contractor to assist with recycling needs. In February a vendor was secured. Every Friday, this company retrieves our recycling bins and delivers them to a recycling center in Gardena. This is the first time Roddan Paolucci Roddan has had a designated, official recycling program. This is the biggest accomplishment for the Green Team thus far, and it will certainly be the most impactful effort.

Green Office Supplies

After testing different stocks, RPR switched to a new paper for agency use that is 50 percent post-consumer product, FSC-certified and is endorsed by the Rainforest Alliance. This is now used by all printers in the office.

Arts & Crafts Time

As part of getting a recycling program started, and even more importantly – raising awareness within the agency – RPR held a Recycling Bin Design Contest. Each member of the team designed a recycle bin, and the agency voted for their favorite. The winner received four tickets (great seats) to a Clippers/Trailblazers game at Staples Center. The winner was No.8 – “Being Green Rocks!”

Measure Your Impact

We all know that we should use recycled paper when we can. But do we all know why? What exactly is it that we're saving? Applying numbers or a unit of measure to our efforts is a helpful way to actually SEE the impact we're making. Here are some of Roddan Paolucci Roddan's numbers:

  • We are currently recycling approximately 1000 lbs of paper each month. That's the equivalent of about 12 fully grown trees.
  • By turning off each computer every night, RPR prevents 451 pounds of Carbon Dioxide from being released by each computer over the course of a year!
